New rules

1: Sorting

Sorting at AIOWW is a relatively simple process. To be sorted go to the sorting board and fill out the sorting quiz for the current term. It will take as long as 24 hours for you to be sorted. Do not post a preference of house. All students begin as first years No Exceptions. After you are sorted you will be sent an owl with all pertinent information.

2: Houses

There are four houses at AIOWW. Each one has a common room which is protected by a password. This password will be given to you by either your head of house or by me personally. Do not tell this password to anyone. The only people who have the authorization to give out passwords are me and the heads of house. This password may change from time to time if I determine so.

3: Classes

Classes at AIOWW follow a standard schedule. This means that all teachers are required to conduct lessons by this standard. Every teacher is required to post their lessons on a bi-weekly basis. There will be a calendar entry for the days that the lessons should be posted. Classes should be conducted in a Role Playing environment. This means that everything within the class should be kept IC (In character) if you want to say something OOC (Out of Character) then use (()) or something similar. It is also important that you do not post in a class before you have been sorted.

If you are a student and do not post that you have arrived at class within the given 48 hours, you will be subject to a deduction of no more than 10 points, and no fewer than 5 points. The exact number will be decided by the teacher. If you make your first post after the 48 hours do not RP yourself entering class late, this is annoying and slows down the pace of the class. Simply assume that you have been at class since the beginning.

3.1: Homework

Homework is assigned by the teachers at the end of every class. It is up to the teacher to decide what the homework is, but it is usually a short written assignment. No teacher may assign homework that is required to be over 150 words long. This does not mean that you can not make it longer than 150 words, only that teachers may not require it to be longer than 150 words.

Homework is to be turned in by owl to the teacher who assigned it. The teacher will then grade it and give me that grade so I can put it in the student’s files. The teacher will then assign an amount of House Points to the student’s house.

4: House Points

House points are awarded or taken away by any teacher
Teachers are allowed to add or remove as much as 50 points per student per day. To add or remove points, please post in the appropriate post in the staff room. I will review the points, and update the totals correctly.

5: Quidditch

Quidditch rules can be found posted in the quidditch director’s office at the quidditch pitch.

((These Rules are not finished yet, expect more to be added soon))

6: Spells
There will be absolutely no casting of the unforgivably curses. Doing so will result in either immediate expulsion from school or a 6 month stay in Azacaban prison. Unforgivable Curses are defined as The Imperius Curse, The Cruciatus Curse, The Avarda Kadavara Curse. Each of these spells are highly illegal to use on a living creature. And even using them on an inanimate object is against the law.

Furthermore, no student shall use spells beyond their grade level. This means that no student below their 4th (or 3rd year if they are taught by a professor) should be able to conjure a Patronus. It also means that no student can be an Animagus unless they are first instructed by a professor.
