Backstory of AIOWW

After the death of Voldermort in Harry Potter’s seventh year at Hogwarts it was decided among the international wizarding community that a school, modeled after Hogwarts, should be built in the United States. A location was chosen and construction began after many delays. When the school was completed letters of invitation were sent to all young American Wizards and their families. All that remained was for those students to accept.

Because the school was so new the board of governors decided that unlike hogwarts the school would accept students of any age and not just limit it to students of age 11. They also decided that since the school was built in a dangerous wilderness area that all students had to be at least 13 before they would be accepted.

Term 1
Term one was a promising term, everyone thought the school would prosper. However, near the end of the term a horrible evil struck. An unknown dark wizard appeared, one of the last of the Death Eaters, and succeeded in killing a student. The school was immediately closed. Auorers from around the world decended on the school and after several months of intense fighting the dark wizard was defeated.

The school was reopened after the evil was cleansed from the grounds and extra protective measures were put in effect. However, many of the staff had gone on with their lives and were no longer avalible to teach. Headmaster James Smith sent out owls to all former staff and students inviting them back and began looking for new teachers to replace those that left the school.
